Various – Israliens 3: Conflict – Hom-Mega (Israel)

Following on from the first two high-class compilations, Israliens 3 is well worth investigating. Offering a selection of the top Israeli trance producers around, there’s something for everyone here and the overall effect is a well thought-out album. Private Taste’s First is included here, a big melodic smash from the summer that’s appeared on more compilations that you can shake a stick at. Illumination & Atomic Pulse’s Optical Vibes is meaty and with one of the biggest breakdowns of the year, and shows more inventiveness than a lot of the minimal trance released lately. Yahel’s Evolution is tight and groovy, and refreshingly more restrained than most of his output. Xerox on Maskalin’s Fanatical Clubbers is a hands-in-the-air monster, with brilliant rhythm and a perfect balance of sounds. Psycraft however steals the show with Muse, another big hit this year, and it’s divine. Sparse and spacey, it has a mindblowing breakdown followed by one of the most danceable peaks ever witnessed.
